The cultural non-elites would think to nominate the entire AWB for an Academy Life Time Achievement Award for convincing the U.N., the U.S. Congress, the Australian Government, DFAT, AWE, ASIC, the Stock Exchange and every other man and his dog for so many years that they were above board.

Either that or think the Australian Government's investigation of repeated and often specific allegations was akin to a journalist asking a murder suspect on national TV  something like "did you kill you wife?"

And expecting a confession.
